| More than 70 percent of people who acquire animals end up giving them away, abandoning them, or taking them to shelters. |
| No breeding can be considered "responsible". Those who breed animals for profit and individuals who let their dog or cat have "just one litter ", however well-intentioned they may be, contribute to the severe dog and cat overpopulation crisis.
